It’s *officially* my due date! Still no BABY, but you know, there’s at least a light at the end of the tunnel at this point. Sort of. I kind of have this feeling I’m going to go crazy overdue, but I’m hoping that my intuition is wrong on this one. Continue reading
Well, I appreciate the HUGE outpouring of texts/facebook messages/etc wishing me well and sending me baby hopes this week, but as I sit here watching the Macy’s Parade drinking decaf coffee, Baby is still firmly holding on to her refusal to appear. So, according to theBump, I’m literally carrying around a full sized watermelon. A watermelon that is flexing and kicking, and also has fingernails that already need to be trimmed. (NOT that I can feel them, but the idea of that is honestly the scariest thing I’e read so far.) Also, she’s already preparing for her first poop. Isn’t pregnancy magical, y’all? Continue reading
Thirty eight weeks today and I honestly am at the point where I don’t even know what to say in this post. I’m just really over being pregnant at this point. I want to be holding my baby and enjoying having her here, and I really would love to not be in this miserable stage of late pregnancy that I’m in right now. I was pretty lucky to have a really easy pregnancy for 99% of the time- honestly I spent most of this time with very few complaints, and the ones that I did have were so minor. The last two or so weeks though… I’m ready for her to come out. Continue reading
I have done it! I have carried this parasite all the way to full term! That means any day now, there will be a baby. Except… I don’t think she knows that. She still hasn’t dropped at all (as far as I can tell anyway? Maybe I just can’t tell because I look at myself every day, but the bump looks pretty stationary to me. I still haven’t really had any signs of labor at all either, with the exception of a littttttle bit of really minor cramping last night. I haven’t even really had any sort of nesting instinct. It’s probably messier in here than it’s been in months. Continue reading
This week, baby is about the size of a honeydew. Her skin is starting to smooth out, and her liver and kidneys should be completely functioning. Her immune system should also be good and ready for her to like, exist outside. Continue reading
35 Weeks – Either a coconut or a honeydew, although we went pumpkin picking a few weeks back, and I’m pretty sure the pumpkins we brought home were just about 5.5 lbs, so that’s what I’m imagining because I can actually hold one for comparison. All of the apps and websites I look at for information every week are basically like, “yeah there’s just a whole baby in there getting fatter, but she’s pretty much like, done.” She’s about 15% body fat right now, but should be around 30% at birth, so mostly just plumping up. Continue reading
Hey guys! We finished up the baby’s room today, and I’m basically obsessed with it. Everything ended up looking pretty much exactly how I wanted it to, and I couldn’t be happier. There are a few little detail things I may still add – I wanted to make a mobile but haven’t gotten around to it yet, and stuff like that- but for the most part, it’s DONE!
Here’s a panorama of the whole room, plus a few detail pictures:
